Mott MacDonald, the global management, engineering and development consultancy, enjoyed double success at the Best Office awards 2011, which took place on 18 - 19 May in the Capital City mixed-use complex in Moscow, Russia.

The consultancy’s commission as project and cost managers for a new office for client Walt Disney Studios Sony Pictures Releasing won the Grand Prix award for most outstanding office. Building acoustics were an important element in the design as a 30 seat cinema and guest bar area were incorporated within the structure and had to be constructed to ensure no disturbance to film viewings from the office environment.

Mott MacDonald was also the project and cost manager for the new Google office in Moscow, winner of the Comfort and Ergonomics category. The Google office is a unique workplace with a fully functioning kitchen and cafeteria, numerous breakout areas and a 'magic forest' zone. Following its work with Google in Russia, Mott MacDonald has won further commissions as project and cost managers for Google offices in Dubai and London.

The Best Office awards are the major event of the year for office industry professionals in Russia, featuring an international exhibition, business conference and culminating in the awards ceremony. The event presented the latest developments and trends in the field of office property, from workplace environment and labour productivity increasing technologies to the latest trends in consulting and marketing.
